There's no place like...

Home. I miss home so much this time of year! It doesn't help that both my bother and sister got new electronic devices that allow skyping more regularly! There are so many days where I find myself down in the dumps because I miss my family and Zachs family so much. We hear about things they've done or dinners they've had and it makes my heart ache so much! We have the cutest babies at home growing up without us!

I've come to terms with the fact that I will probably never move back home again because let's be honest, there isnt a whole lot going on there. But a girl can hope right? My mom always likes to remind me that growing up I always said that I was never going to stay there, that I was going to do anything to get out of Iowa. Never in my wildest childhood dreams did I ever think I actually would. Going to school half way across the country was the bet and hardest decision I ever made, but I'm glad I took the step and ventured out. It does make going home all that much sweeter.

This year zach and I do get to go home and we couldn't before excited! Needless to say we are counting down the days!

update.

So I started this blog thing for a reason... And I guess I haven't really been using it like I said I was going to.
I really wanted this little corner in the world wide web so that I could share things about my life and what is going on it in, but I just haven't been doing a very good job of that.
{i promise to try harder from now on}
I think I just got caught up in thinking that no one really cared about it, but there are people who do read this, so I should probably keep going for them!!!
{thanks readers}

Well for starters, as many already know, Zach and I are back in Idaho (land of the potatoes) and back to school. Zach is taking some pretty rough classes that he doesn't really like too much, and working in the security & safety office on campus. I am back at PM doing hair and loving it. (meant to be read with sarcasm.) Maybe its because I took four months off, or maybe I have figured out that its just not my thing, I don't know. I'm just having a really rough time getting into the swing of things..{i know, i know, its been two months since I've been back..I'm having a rough time, give me some slack. }

On the plus side, I have started hanging out with some friends I had before I left, and some great new friends! I have felt like I've grown new friendship that are going to be long lasting ones! {makes school a lot easier to bare}

Winter is pretty much here, and it is real cold, only to get colder... insert tears here...
living on the bottom floor stinks!!

Anywho, really that is about all that is new with us.

oh and we are getting pretty new iphones in the mail hopefully tomorrow!
thats realllllyyyy exciting! : )

only 7 1/2 weeks till we fly home to Iowa!

Happy Holidays!

My friend Bianca contacted me to take some x-mas photos for her cute little family!
So we went to the nature park and here is a preview!

PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT!!

ordering info at the bottom of the post!!!
Dear Family and Friends!
I have had an AMAZING Educational opportunity, but I need your help to get there.
Every year Paul Mitchell the school has an Educational Event in Las Vegas Nevada called CAPER.  The top stylist from Paul Mitchell, come to train us in the latest hair trends of cutting, coloring, and styling! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to meet, as well as, work with these icons face to face.
There are only 30 positions open for students to go from my school. How I earn my way there is by selling 45 CAPER bags. You may be wondering what a CAPER bag is. A CAPER Bag is a tote that comes with 2- 3 products in it and in some cases a brush  (CAPER bags are found at the bottom of the page as well as an explanation of each product). These CAPER bags make wonderful birthday or Christmas gifts or are a great deal if you are in need some product for yourself.
By selling my 45 bags I am paying for my transportation to and from the airport, air fair, my ticket into the show, hotel, and 1/3 of my meals.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support.

Family

Living so far away sometimes gets a little hard. I've lived away from home since January of 2008, and boy it seems like much longer than that.
We miss our families so much, but modern technology and the occasional across the country visit sure do make things a lot easier.

Last week Zachs dad got to come out to our neck of the woods so visit Zach and his younger brother Jesse. We got to all hang out the day that i didnt have school, and the boys had so much fun doing their boys outdoors stuff! Zach was in 7th Heaven!
&&
of course, i took some photos...
I got to go to Craters of the Moon with the boys so those are the only pictures I have, but Zach has much more he posted on his FB if you interested in looking at big ol' fish!

Feeling crafty...

So every once in a great while I will feel super craft, and I can just whip out some pretty easy projects...

Well Zach and I recently moved back to Rexburg, as most of you already know, and moved back into the same apartment complex, just a different building. Now that we are on the first floor instead of the second we thought it would be nice to but a curtain on our door for some sun relief and extra privacy. I had been meaning to pop out the sewing machine since we got here, but just never found the time or motivation. Today we dont really have too much going on, Zach is still recovering from his sore throat/stuffed nose/cough, so we stayed home from church and are trying to relax before school starts tomorrow... yikes.
So I made a curtain, and a book cover-case thing to hold my books from hair school. We aren't allowed to carry our bags into Theory class and its kind of a pain to carry around the books because i always seem to drop everything! so I made myself a little case : )

not the greatest pictures.. but you get the idea.

sorry its so dark!

Adios El Paso!

okay, so we aren't leaving yet
{darn it}
but soon enough...
Im posting today because this is my last day in El Paso with internet! : (
{dont want to pay for a whole month when we wont be here!}
so no more blogging till I'm back in Rexburg!
Zach and I are going on his intern trip to Arizona to check out the other operation that Freeport has.
It will be a great networking trip for Zach, and a good chance to see what other parts of the company have to offer. We will get to see some of the Gold, cooper, and molybdenum mines. {i get steel toed shoes and everything!}

It should be a good trip. Then when we get back we are helping Friday and Saturday with Youth Conference. Since I'm a convert to the church who joined at 17, I never got to go. So this should be a great opportunity to see what I missed, and get to serve at the same time! : )
I'm actually really excited for it... {plus the food sounds super yummy!}

After that fun filled week, we will have just 5 days till we leave and go back to school!
I CANT WAIT! I seriously have been missing Idaho {I seriously cant believe im saying that...}
We are spending a few days with fam in Utah, then heading on to Idaho, then the party can start!! : )
Get ready Idaho friends! The Zmoos' are almost back!!!

Save me, San Fransisco..

http://www.vh1.com/video/train/644179/save-me-san-francisco.jhtml#id=1655859
Save Me, San Fransisco - Train

Heard this on the radio while we were in San Fransisco, thought it would be appropriate seeing as we saw many things listed in the song!

Zach and I took a trip to Sacramento for Jacob and Sam's wedding.. {fellow byui students} and got to hang out with Allen and Megan {former byui students, zachs roommate, and fellow mission buddy}

We had a blast. We got there on Friday and caught up and hung out with Allen and Megan and got to see their beautiful new house that they have worked so hard on! It was wonderful, and made me really excited to be "real people" as I like to call them! haha

Saturday we had a full day of wonderful wedding-ness, where there were like 14 weddings at the Sacramento Temple. It was a beautiful day though! I had never been to that temple before, it was so great. Zach and I got to take a little walk around the temple grounds before the wedding, we had a great time.

The next day Zach, Megan, Allen, and Myself all got into the "silver bullet" {our awesome rental car! haha} and headed to San Fransisco. Another place I had never been to, so I was super excited!
We visited the Seven Painted ladies... with we didnt know thats what is was at the time... and instead thought it was the house from the show "Full House" we were all a little disappointed to find out that it wasnt.... : (
 We checked out Lombard street, the curviest road! It was crazy, especially since people live right off there... i would hate to wait in traffic every day just to get to my driveway.  Megan and I walked up the hill.... let me tell you... it was a work out!
Then we headed to Fisherman Wharf and pier 39, where we had fish and chips.. {chicken and chips for Megan and I} and got to see seals, cool shops, and Alcatraz.
After that chilly walk, and some hot cocoa {yes i had hot cocoa in July} we headed to Golden Gate!
It was a pretty chilly foggy day, but it was awesome!!! I have always wanted to drive across and it was so fun to see all the different tourist checking it out!
We then headed to Muir woods to see the redwoods. We had a lot of laughs fighting for a parking spot! And then had a lot of fun walking the trails.

We decided to drive up even further to the coast and to check out Stinson beach. Even though it was freezing there were still a ton of people in the ocean! Crazy I know! but it was really pretty, and we got to go in actual beach sand!!! yay!
   and yes the trip continues {yes this has been just one day...}
We headed back to Sacramento, but headed through Sanoma instead of going back through the Golden Gate.  It was very beautiful going through wine country... but we got stuck in traffic and ended up taking two hours more to get home! Being stuck in traffic was actually kind of fun, overall we had a great time.

Monday we had to head back here to  El Paso, but with an end in sight. We have just a little over two weeks left here and I couldnt be more excited. I think I took the Idaho/Utah scene for granted. I miss our friends, and the "bubble" I never thought I would ever say that.
I will miss our friends that we have made here, but I have a big feeling that we will be coming back here after graduation.

So here is what you really came for... the pictures : )

Summer Sweets & Treats!

1. Some of my, "just because I love you" flowers! they were cool and they started to bloom one after the other, so that was fun!
2. An awesome thing about living here in El Paso is the abundance of Mexican sodas. I dont know if its me, but there is just something about it.. I think its better! And theres something about a glass bottle that just makes a soda feel so good!
3. Zach tried to get a little treat when he had to go to the grocery store by himself, then he ended up with fat free... and we all know that just doesn't taste the same! Nice try babe!
4. More of my "because i love you" flowers. But these have seriously lasted for almost 2 weeks! We get home one night after a long few days and they are sitting by my side of the bed. How cute!
5. Mexican Coke, enough said. : ) so tastyyyy
6. Buying the grill was probably one of the best moves we made this summer, we have been able to enjoy all kinds of great summer treats with this baby.
7. I got a wonderful box full of goodies from my Mother-in-law Karen from B&N
8. There is just something about a hot dog on the grill that just makes it feel like summer. I love it!! I seriously ask for this as a meal like once a week...oopsy! not so healthy!
9. Sisterhood Everlasting, and The Hunger Games were the books that I got in my package with my beautiful book tote. I read Sisterhood Everlasting in like 5 days; if you liked the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, you will like this book. Its the same story of the four girls but ten years later when they are grown up. Its a tear jerk-er and I just couldn't seem to put it down.
I was a bit hesitant to start reading The Hunger Games, because I heard what they are about and it just kind of seemed wrong to me... the whole kids fighting to the death thing. But I thought I would give it a chance since so many recommended it. And I am for sure liking it. I am almost done with the first book and I cant wait to get the 2nd on my new Nook : )

ultra cool swanky club...

So you ever just feel like sometimes there is this super ultra cool swanky club, and you just didnt get the invite?
i feel like that some much lately, this might be a slight bit of a pity party post, or basically a post of me complaining, {i will try to make this as pleasant as possible} so if you dont want to read, look away now.

It seems to me that lately there are so many couples that have been married around the same time Zach and I have that are just in another playing field than we are...
let me just state this now, im not pregnant, nor will i be getting pregnant anytime soon, so please,
stop asking, or assuming...
It seems like most of the people on facebook or blogger have been throwing up{throwing up... get it?? haha} sonograms lately..I seriously feel like there is a new one every other day. I guess maybe there is a part of me {maybe a huge part} that secretly wishes that was me right now. But its just something that we dont feel like we are ready for. I am happy for those who are, but i just seriously feel like i cant go anywhere without it being shoved down my throat, and sometimes it wares on me.

"Some may call me a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..."

I feel like this is so true about me, there are so many things that I want to do, want to have, want to experience, before I cant really do any of those things. Call me selfish if you wish, but there's a little more young married life we'd like to live before we take on that responsibility. {even though that experience will be a great one too.}

One day I hope to join this super ultra cool swanky club, but for now Ill just stop complaining
: )
on a lighter note, i straightened my hair today. takes a while with my curls, sometimes i miss it
this font is easier to read yeah??
